Mother-

A mother is the female parent of a child. Mothers are women who inhabit or perform the role of bearing some relation to their children, who may or may not be their biological offspring. Thus, dependent on the context, women can be considered mothers by virtue of having given birth, by raising their child(ren), supplying their ovum for fertilisation, or some combination thereof. Such conditions provide a way of delineating the concept of motherhood, or the state of being a mother. Women who meet the third and first categories usually fall under the terms 'birth mother' or 'biological mother', regardless of whether the individual in question goes on to parent their child. Accordingly, a woman who meets only the second condition may be considered an adoptive mother, and those who meet only the third a surrogacy mother.

The challenging thing is that we know that wherever there is potential for good, opposition will soon be tagging along. Everything has it’s opposite. Have adversarial forces tried to push back against the power of good mothers? Author Pat Holland has said “If I were Satan and wanted to destroy a society, I think I would stage a full-blown blitz on women.” What do you think? Do you get the feeling that blitz is in full play? I’m thinking of “Mommy wars” body-image issues, attacks on self-esteem, the “war on women”, pornography, the list goes on. I think we’re in the thick of it. And when women are under attack, motherhood gets hit with societal shrapnel.

Taking Care of Yourself after birth

The postpartum period involves the mother progressing through many changes, both emotionally and physically, while learning how to deal with all the changes and adjustments required with becoming a new  mother. The postpartum period also involves the parents learning how to care for their newborn and learning how to function as a changed family unit.
A mother needs to take good care of herself to rebuild her strength. You will need plenty of rest, good nutrition, and help during the first few weeks.
